Believe it or not, we all don't share the same set of core values. Today I'm asking you to establish exactly what your core values are. It's may be helpful to write them down somewhere and refer to your list from time to time.
Once you've identified your personal core values you can begin making conscious decision. That simply means when facing a choice in life you make the decisions that will honor your core values. This practice will empower you to begin protecting your sense of peace. By not going along with an activity or agenda that is in opposition to what you feel is important and or just, you will begin to have less inner conflict. And less inner conflict equals less stress and less frustration!
Give these steps a try and let me know what changes you notice in your frustration levels.
1. Establish your core values (honesty, integrity, accountability or loyalty) and write out a list
2. Wen you have a choice/decision to make pull out your list and ask yourself "what action is most in line with my core values"
3. List the benefits that you will enjoy by choosing not to violate your core values. Also list the consequences that would result in you violating them.
Sometimes we need to get back to basics ... I find this exercise helpful in guarding my sense of peace!
