Trust The Process

It’s now time for Sarah to take her internal work a step further, the next skills will involve her practicing her new mindset and goals as she interacts with others in her life. Showing up differently may cause Sarah to experience some negative thoughts like doubt, but this is part of the process and thankfully for Sarah a remedy is built into the journey.

Set Clear Boundaries:

Sarah needs to establish clear boundaries in her work and personal life. This includes defining specific work hours, resisting the temptation to bring work home, constantly checking emails, as well as learning to say no. Resisting the urge to allow the expectations of those in her personal life to outweigh the healthy lifestyle choices she has made. These are crucial for maintaining balance.

Cognitive Restructuring:

Cognitive restructuring involves challenging and changing negative thought patterns that contribute to burnout. Sarah will work on identifying and reframing irrational or unhelpful beliefs about work, success, and self-worth.

Effective Communication Skills:

Effective communication is key in addressing burnout. Sarah would learn how to assertively and confidently communicate her needs and boundaries both at work and in her personal life. This includes expressing her feelings, setting clear expectations, and negotiating workload or responsibilities when necessary.
